Folks, this event is desperate for riders. The event starts March 17 in Daytona, then across the southern tier to San Diego and LA, flies to Hawaii and back and continues from there. Here's the list of legs and dates. Please consider helping and contributing. Thanks for your consideration. (Go to the site shown in post #1 to join up.)

I plan to pick up the package in Austin, TX and carry it thru at least to Phoenix and maybe San Diego. A few more real LD riders could also help fill the gaps across other wide open spaces. Anyone planning to go to Alaska (legs 51 to 55) in this time frame?

My dad died from prostate cancer Apr. 08, 2012. I was doing funeral, cremation, and ash scattering while all this was going on in California. Would have joined under other circumstances, but then again I only found this post right now. Anyone know if/when there will be another in CA?

I see you got in contact on the main website. Hope you get what ya need. The website isn't a lot of help in finding what, when, and where.

Going to look into the Lincoln, NE to Cheyenne part coming in June. Means going to Lincoln first though. Anymore info on that part yet, Rob (the one with all the answers )?

It would be wonderful if you could do the leg from Lincoln, NE to Cheyenne. I'm on the verge of being able to be more certain on those dates as I get the riders before Lincoln to commit to a date.

At this time I would make every effort to get a date that would work into your schedule. The general times for the Lincoln to Cheyenne leg is June 22-26. But those dates could be sooner or later ... depending on your schedule and the schedules of the riders before you.

I will make every effort to give you a date you can ride.

So sorry to hear about your father ... very tragic and my heart is sad for you and your family. We plan to be riding again next year in Califonia and will try and keep you updated on our plans.

But the ride is still going on this year and maybe you can help us spread the word. We still need riders in the west ... WY, ID, OR, MT, ND, SD etc. And we post our progress daily on Facebook ... just google Prostate Cancer Pony Express.

Looking for someone (or two) to get the package from Salt Lake City to Denver. A joint effort with a transfer in or around Grand Junction would definitely work. Anyone? Bueller?

Surely, a couple of folks here are gonna be out riding anyway toward the end of April. SLC to Denver is only 527 miles, folks, just an SS1K for a round trip. Any LD riders in Denver or SLC looking for an excuse to... GO RIDE!!!!.

I may be able to pull this off, what is the route, all street?
I would rather take the true Pony Express if possible and hit the dirt roads!

Guess this is a moving target ... a couple of riders just agreed to do the Salt Lake City to Denver ... yes it's a road ride but if you are the leader of the leg you can choose the route and if it's dirt ... that's the route. Can you do another leg for us?

Just a thought but maybe you could meet the rider coming into Salt Lake City and ride with him part of the way ... it will be a road ride but I'm sure he would welcome the company. It will be around April 23 ... He's headed to Grand Junction to meet another rider who will take the messenger bag on to Denver and beyond.
