Help with starting petition for Deschutes Tavel Management Plan

To any of you involved with the Wallowa-Whitman Forest recall we could use some advise on how to handle our management plan here in the Deschutes. I don't think many locals realized what it really entailed.
Today many of us took the momentum from your recall and contacted our local media which led to this story being run at the start of the 6pm news. http://www.ktvz.com/news/30917133/detail.html
The ball is rolling. Want to keep it rolling. Any help is greatly appreciated. Any cut and paste petitions or letters would be great.

I grew up here, been riding here since I was 12,,50 years back! I helped to build some of these roads.
I guess I must have missed your signs,,,were those the un-readable ones with all the bullet holes?

This needs to be looked at as a problem with "ALL" National Forests, so start writing constructive letters that will help keep what we love!

Later in the evening on KTVZ there was a short interview with a USFS lady who said that no new DNF roads were closed but that they were just complying with new federal rules. Anyone know if that is really the case?

I know firsthand there are roads in the system that are not blocked or marked closed with a sign and they are not listed on the FS maps. Therefore under the new system those roads would be considered closed. So I would say that is not the case.

I heard this story on 1110 this morning, too. Thank goodness, it's getting out there. Much appreciation to those that made it happen.

The maps are a joke; just Deschutes alone is SIX huge maps, and they just stickered over the 2010 date for 2011. The state employees know it's untenable, too. They didn't even have all the maps available when I went in last Fall to get them. The $5K fine is no joke, though, unfortunately, and they probably won't let you slide after this summer, if that long. The State needs it's money.

I'll do what I can. Just signed the petition and I'll spread the word (and link). If any of you are more attuned to what else works, please post up and we can get this thing fixed.
