What would it take for you to give up Big Orange?

This worked on me. A trade for a week was hard to resist. Just not sure how I will look wearing ADV gear on that.

I did give mine up for a new GSA in 2008. Have now just managed to find a 2005.5 which is like new to fill the hole that had been left in my garage and life since my old 950 departed. This one WILL be staying.

Keep the 990. Sport bikes just get you in trouble unless your going to track it. I can show you a pic later how goofy you would look on that bike. I have a sport bike and I where dual sport gear.

Mine is a perfect shape RC51 though. I don't like maintenance that much. But then agian everytime I ride the rc51 I have the biggest grin on my face ever.

I sometimes swap bikes for an RC51 with a friend. On most roads that I ride, we're both faster on the KTM- the RC51 will take off on straights and smooth corners, but on bumpy corners and gravelly narrow roads, the KTM is the better bike.

Same thing with another friend and his ducati (though he's faster than me whatever bike he's on), the sportbikes are fun for an hour or two, then I want my 950 back.

I agree. I am actually selling my rc and picking up an r1200rt for the pavement cruiser.

That's just a bit more than a sport bike. After you get tired of it get it touch with me and we'll work out a trade for my 990. Have fun but be carefull, 200 hp w/o traction control can be scary.

I just dont like the sport bike position

its like trying to run with your pants down

its OK if youre in the slot but anywhere else and yer gonna waddle

if you tried to follow me on one of those tank huggers, you would only make it to the first dirt road

Well I only have it for a week. It is an amazing machine with scary performance, but OMG is it uncomfortable. For me, 30-45 minutes tops before my I'm numb and my head is buzzing. It truly is a race bike. I would never give up the big KTM but I will enjoy the hell out of this bike for the next few days (30 minutes at a time).

I once showed up at Cave Creek Coffee Company riding a borrowed 999, and wearing my dirtbike helmet. As I got off, a guy who apparently thought he was telling me something I didn't know, said: "That helmet is for a dirtbike." I said: "Yes, it is." With that he turned, and started talking to someone else.
