Bay Area weekday dirt rides
Howdy,
Thanks to a flexible work schedule, I get to ride my dirt bike about 3 weekdays each month. I usually ride alone because everyone else is working. Anyone else have a similar situation? Maybe we can post here whenever we plan to go dirt riding. I live in San Francisco and ride a mix of dirt bikes, but no big dual sport. Most times, my decision to ride is very last-minute. Usually, I head to: Metcalf, Hollister, Carnegie or Mendocino NF. For example, I'm planning to be at Hollister tomorrow (Thursday August 16) from about 11:30 to 3 on my '76 TT500. (you can't miss it, come out and say hello if you can.) Its always great to ride with new folks! fun fun Charlie |

Good idea !!!! I'm in a similar situation: flexible work-week so can ride some mornings, pm or sometimes the whole day.
I'm in Walnut Creek and have ridden at Carnagie and Mendo recently. Cannot make tomorrow but keep on posting. Sounds like a good idea. Maybe we can grab a few more inmates for a casual ride? Rgds...jonathan |

I ride a 2011 KTM 990 Adventure and am always interested in weekend dirt rides. I live in the Sunset District in San Francisco. When somebody is interested in a weekend ride, give me a ring on my cell at 415-699-1003.

I have a rotating schedule with various weekdays off. I ride a 640 Adventure and don't have anything smaller. I'm interested in doing a lot more riding than I am but that bike is a handful in the harder stuff...
If ya'll don't mind having me tag along, maybe I'll make it out one of these days. |

Follow this link to get a map of Carnegie with names of trails:
http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1173 So you'll be at Tyson's Basin by the maintenance yard? In the parking lot there, or more at the entrance? I'm not coming, but just trying to help make it more clear. That parking lot is where I used to start when my son was first learning to ride. He came very close to landing an RM-125 on the hood of the only nice car parked there. ![]() We later parked just west of Skip's, which now has some other name.

Last minute! Hollister today. Getting there around noon. Ford Escape with KTM 250 XC-W (plated). Parking in the first lot on the right, near the vintage track.
