I'm planning to ride south from the Central Coast of CA in early Nov. Heading down the Baja, ferry across to mainland Mexico, and continue south. How far south...hopefully all the way.

The mods made to my '09 DR 650 are as follows: 4.9 gal IMS gas tank, Corbin seat, lowered pegs, bar risers, fork springs, high output stator, rear racks for pelican cases, wind screen, Garmin GPS. Picture to follow.

A fun trip. I am a couple of months ahead of you on an 07 DR650 that I rode from Denver. Good luck with the prep.

I'm leaving Dana Point on Thursday morning. I had a very nice visit with my friend Kay (Julie's mother). Since it was raining lightly, Kay drove me on my last minute errands to the Post Office and to a currency exchange location. With my packing completed, I'm heading down to San Diego.

In the water consumption department, I'm sticking with the bottled variety. And believe it or not, I haven't sampled the "clear stuff" yet. In the department of TMI, to date the plumbing is just fine.
