60/5 carb "tickler" question

I lost one somewhere , found the retaining clip in the bowl. So I order a new one, but the new one has a hole rather than indents for the clip. I was wondering what would be a good way to keep the new one in? I was thinking maybe a small wire twisted back around its self like a safety wire.

Use a small cotter pin and a washer.
