WARPED IX - Post Apocalypse!
WARPED IX – Post Apocalypse! Ride Report Here According to some, the Mayan calendar predicts that the world will end on Dec. 21, 2012. At WARPED VIII, we collectively predicted that the Mayan's were wrong. EDIT: And what do you know? We were right!Or, to be more specific, the translators are wrong. So as we sat very, very close to the fire in the snow and rain we planned WARPED IX. The theme? "Post Apocalypse!" The Ninth Annual Western Adventure Rider Party and Endurance Drinking Event is ON!! April 19 through 21, 2013 Logo Art: (Final!) ![]() Once again Mountain & River Adventures is hosting this event. 15775 Sierra Way Kernville, CA 93238 MRA's web site is here: http://www.mtnriver.com/ This year we have again reserved the entire upper campground for Friday and Saturday nights. There are also sites reserved for Thursday night. Thursday night options are limited, so get in early! Last year was a great time for those that braved the rain, snow, and under- 40 degree temps!!! Here's the post event thread: WARPED VIII RATES REMAIN THE SAME!! But only for Early Birds. We’ve negotiated discounts to keep our rate the same this year, but the tradeoff is that we have to pay early and in full. (For those of you have difficulty putting 2 and 2 together, that means the price goes up 25% or more if you miss the first cut-off date of Feb 28.) Also, that means if you are a regular and already know you are attending, please go ahead and sign up so that we have enough in the bank to make the first $1000 deposit by Dec 15. It will be much appreciated! PRICES (Early Bird) Camping: $15 per night Saturday Night Dinner: $25 These costs are per person. SOLD OUT ON GEAR! SHIRTS & GLASSES ![]() Shirts & Beer Mugs can be ordered on the second page of registration (color & design to be determined) • SS Shirts thru XL = $17.00 and $19.00 for XXL or XXXL • Long Sleeve thru XL = $20 and $22 for the XXL or XXXL • Ladies SS Tees thru XL = @19.00 and $21.00 for the XXL or XXXL • Ladies LS Tees thru XL = @22.00 and $24.00 for the XXL or XXXL • Unbreakable silicone pint glasses = $10 ![]() And! We've added a Hoodie option this year for $27.00 (S-XL) & $30 for (XXL - XXXL) Since we have a bunch of math impaired folks we’ve made registration even easier on everyone this year; well except maybe Computerless who has dispensation to send his registration in by carrier pigeon: All others register here: http://warpedix.eventbrite.com The new registration system allows payment by paypal – it’s all built in, or if you absolutely must, you can mail in a check. Please use the paypal option; I would deeply appreciate not having to manually handle a pile of checks. It would be helpful if you were to pay for camping-meals-shirts all at once, but since some of you have trouble making decisions, we’ve also allowed for an option to order additional merchandise after you’ve registered for the event; see the “Already Registered, I just need to buy some gear” option on the registration page. And yes it will cost you $2 more to do it that way. Pay attention here: Payment & Registration Note: Registration will only be taken on the eventbrite site! The old direct paypal method will not be accepted. Please use the link above; just click on the link and follow the directions. CAMPING Tent spots are mostly first come first served. Those with RV's, toy haulers, etc. let us know what you are bringing so we can coordinate spots for ease of entrance and exit. RV Note: Two years ago was a real pain in the butt for RVs. And although last year was better and we can accommodate RVs, there are a VERY FEW LIMITED places we can put them, 4 sites tops. If you've been there you know what I mean. Because of the limited availability they will be on a first come first parked basis. Any trailer over 25' is almost impossible to park!!!!! If you think you can get into a space and it's full of tents it'll be up to you to ask them to move (good luck with that). If you're RVing you pays your money and takes your chances. Usually by Friday at noon they are taken. Plan accordingly by asking your scout to stake a claim if you're going to be late. Remember, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN for finding a place if the prime spots are taken. There must be a limit of 4 RV Trailers and the first to show up and take the spots get them. FOOD Due to feedback and lack of participation, everyone will be on their own for food this year. There are several local restaurants within a few miles. The Kern River Brewery is across the street from the James Market and serves some pretty good food. We will have use of the dining area for a couple of hours Sat night for the traditional Schwag Raffle. SCHWAG We are hoping to get some great schwag again for this year's raffle. Last year’s raffle was great and we’d like this year’s to be even better!! We'd prefer stuff that is not bike-specific. Gift certificates, clothing, etc. are all good. If you know a Vendor here on ADV or in the real world and can get us an "in" or get them to donate something that would be awesome. If you're able to donate SCHWAG to the cause please PM me here and put "SCHWAG" in the subject line so all donations will get the proper recognition they deserve. SWAG LIST

The eventbrite site looks like credit cards will work..is that right? Or do you want everyone to use the paypal option?
