john penton's 1966 jack pine enduro winning bmw
Now that I have your attention...
Does anyone have a link to some pictures of the bmw that won the jack pine enduro in 1966? Possibly a list of the modifications and prep done to it? I love to see them |

One of Johns bikes has survived, being restored as we speak. I did the motor and some paint work a couple years ago. I should have my pal write a story about how it came together. It was in parts in Ohio, the Carolinas, and Florida. Just finding the parts and getting them all together is a story in itself. John used an Ariel fork, Bates headlight, WLA Harley ignition switch mounted on the toolbox lid, route sheet holder made from a tincan, a flat strip of aluminum for front fender. I will call him and see what he can do, but don't expect results overnight, he has been working on this for several years.

FANTASTIC!!
I hope you can post some pictures of the bike then and now. And some of that story maybe some about how and why he chose the forks and other mods. If youre still having trouble posting photos, just email them to me and ill host them and.post them for you. For the good of all humanity, please, let us see this bike that won the 1966 jackpine enduro! And it was the only jackpine win on a bmw, including the new ones like the 450x. What kind of bmw was it? |
