GS 17 Inch Wheel Conversion
Looking for information for converting the R1200GS 19 inch front wheel to a 17 inch. Also the rear to a wider 5.5 for a 180. I don't do off road riding so I want more yire options for the street and track.
Thanks for any help! |

The easiest way to do this on the 1150's is to bolt up a set of RT (or R) wheels. I suspect that the 1200 is the same.

Search this topic in the GS forum...I think there is more to it than that. The rear needs to be offset or milled in some way, IIRC...

Sounds like the guys that want to lower 4WD SUVs.
Guess it's OK to have a lowrider contingent here.

The wire wheels are pretty heavy. Compared to my buddy's MS12, my rear with tire is at least 50% heavier and he has a much wider tire . Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2
