Phoenix Meets Tucson v.3

UPDATE because of the cold front we will be backing the KSU time until 10AM

DATE: January 12-13, 2013
PLACE: Warm and cheerful (and liberal) Tucson
SAT RIDE: Charouleau Gap
SUNDAY RIDE: Aravaca Desert Ride

3 years running. Although it says Phoenix...ANYONE is welcome. Charouleau is challenging but not brutal. It will be more challenging than last year as we had quite a bit of rain this Summer which made some areas more rocky and rutted.

Sunday ride is a new one for almost everyone. Not as tough as Charouleau, it is longer and ads coffee at the Gadsden Coffee shop in Aravaca. Some of this gives you an opportunity for true high speed desert stuff (read Baja type). We do go close to the border so if you have border insecurities this isn't the ride for you. This one is even possible for larger bikes with skilled rider.

Let's say 9am Saturday and probably 8am on Sunday (with it being a longer ride). As always, the participants add as much as the ride itself, but I don't think anyone will be disappointed.

Chime in if you plan to attend. If there is enough interest in staying in Tucson Saturday night, I will make arrangements for a place for us to have dinner.

BUMMER, that's my Saturday to work. Will have to see if I can switch Saturdays. If I can, I'm in.

I'm assuming the date is a typo and you meant 1/13/13?

Can't miss the Gap ride. It's a blast. I'm scheduled to work, but I'll see if I can get it off.

I'm bringing a wetsuit in case I go submarine again!

Thanks for putting this together again Allyn. Its one of the best rides of the year.

Lucky for me, I can do both. Does that make me ambidextrous?

We usually make a day of it. I like to watch practice, drink beer and hang out. It's an annual thing and a couple people I only see a few times a year.

Maybe for Sunday, I don't want to miss it completely. There WILL be riding on Sunday, just a matter of where. I don't want to ditch my homies if they don't want to travel. If I can get all to agree, there may be as many as 4 of us.
