Re-keying the BMW adventure case

I just got a top case from my father off his old bike. The problem is the lock for the bracket is locked closed. Can I get it re-keyed to my bike at the dealer if its locked.

Thank you,

Probably any good locksmith could do it.
My local locksmith picked and keyed my Studebaker ignition cylinder and made me 2 new keys for it for $25.
it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

Try the dealer. My local dealer rekeyed the top box I bought from an inmate for free.

My lock was unlocked which probably made it easier. It can't hurt to ask.

You can buy the kit and DIY, or pay the dealer. I had a problem when keying my new cases and had to remove the lock on my top case. It has a spring loaded tab you need to depress to allow the cylinder to slide out. It's not easy, but you can do it if you have a small pick set. The kit only has 3 code inserts, so it's a simple job after you get the code sorted.
