Laugh New to me Triple Black 2012 GS Adventure

Today begins the journey to North Carolina from San Clemente California to pick up the new to me GS Adventure. I'm doing a fly-n-ride, and will be attempting a iron butt CC50 on the way back. That is a coast-to-coast ride in less than 50 hours, from Jacksonville Florida to San Diego California.

I'm also going to be installing quite a few farkles and other parts when I arrive in North Carolina. I'll be documenting the add-ons, updates, and farkleation of the bike with photos and comments here in this thread.

I'll also be doing a ride report complete with photos and video of the trip across the country.

Stay tuned...

Awsome, fly all the way across the continent, buy a 'new to you' bike, bolt on a bunch of farkles and ride back to the other side of the continent in 50 hours or less, in the winter. What could go wrong? You should strap a bengal tiger to the passenger seat just to make it interesting. Call it the ride of Pi.

Seriously - Good luck.

Nowhere near Chicago this trip. I'm staying as far south as possible.

I'm picking the bike up from another inmate via Capitol BMW in Raleigh, NC.

Nice thread Andy ... and by the way, there is no end to the money you can spend on these bikes.

Glad to see how much you are enjoying the new ride.

The seat is very comfortable. The only thought I've had so far is the fact the cover is suede, therefore, not slippery. This may or may not be an issue when riding off road and needing to slide across the seat for some reason. I've ridden it off road a bit but did not come across an instance where sliding was required...

Also, the back seat has the D-rings on the side, which seem like a good idea - for a cruiser seat, maybe... - but on the GSA, there are plenty of tie off points on the back so these are unnecessary.

Good to hear, thanks for the feedback. I had the same thought about the D-rings on the back, great idea, on my old V-Strom. Unnecessary on a GSA.
