The Arlint's Go South
Jessica (the wife) on a bmw g650 and I on a Tiger 800 xc plan on doing america! All three of them! The trip will start in the month of february 2013 from logan utah and hopefully end in less than 3 months somewhere in south america! The trip has been on the backburner for some time now and has just recently became viable because of my college graduation and job..."cough" stuff. I have never written a ride report before but I have read my fair share during work.
Posts will not be frequent or regular! They will however, be loaded with juicy adventure photos! I suppose the first post after this introduction will be a detailed packing list... (this is mostly to motivate myself to make a packing list) Spec'ing out 2 bikes of different make for the same trip has required extra time since I have to know how to change chains, tires, sparkplugs and eveything else on both bikes. The bikes have also had to be fitted with all sorts of gear including engine guards and luggage kits. OH and i almost forgot... before the packing list will be a couple of shots of the bikes! This is our first LONG adventure and we are very much still NOOBS! I would appreciate any constructive critisim or advice to make it go smoother! The adv-rider community has had my back before on some issues I had with my tigger and Im super greatful! Thanks for all your past and FUTURE help!

So my wife and I decided to use pelican cases for our trip because they hold a bunch and are super sturdy... plus we had some around. The major downside is they open to the side... so if you want to open them up while they're attached it becomes a shower of camping/bike gear. So... i fixed it! See the next post.

Nice.
Roll up your clothes and stack them inside the Pelican cases. Easy access. Sorry I am not more constructive. Bon voyage!!!
