5 Months from Chicago to Peru

On Oct 1, 2012 I left Thailand and flew to Chicago where the V-Strom I bought on E-Bay was parked at a friends house. Now back in Thailand I am sifting through thousands of pix and video clips and editing the footage of the trip. Instead of one long story it makes more sense to post the segments when ready. Here's part 1:

Chicago to Lima - Grand Canyon - part 2

To see the Grand Canyon for the 1st time was truly awe inspiring. Staying out of big cities we were able to get that true feel of Americana.

Great seeing you!

It was a pleasure seeing you on AdvRider. You and I met in Granada, Nicaragua at the square and then joined you at your hotel for a drink by the pool and then we had dinner. Remember the young couple who also joined us? How was the remainder of your trip? All my best...Donnie MacKenzie

Hey man; Nice to hear from you. We unfortunately lost them later in Costa Rica. They had some major bike problems and were waiting for parts from the States. We had to carry on to meet the Stahlratte in Panama but spent some quality time together. Have not heard from them since but in contact with many people met along the way. What happened to you? You disappeared in San JUan and never saw you again. Diid you finish the trip? Slowly putting the clips together. Should end with about 40 in total.

Awesome ride, I am Following your reports as I am planning something similar into Central and South America. We have taken some of the same routes in North America from a past trip I took.

Guatemala is beautiful and I am lucky enough to have traveled most of the country due to my Wife being a Chapina!

Stay Safe

Checking out your post I found that I stayed in Hotel Hidalgo as well and had an interesting but non documented evening out on the town. Guatemala was wonderful.
