Cicadas? what's the buzz about?
was living in TX in '96, did not see the 'last wave' of these buggers when they came around
in '79 was 6, and can remember the dogs loving to eat them, then coming in and puking up the stinky semi-chewed bugs(must be better than BACON?)
Primarily, don't own a car right now...so, how do you wash the things out of your gear?
times of day to avoid?
So they'll be here, or are here...
Where are you, and when did they show up, and how many?
Any tales of the last 'Brood-II' ?
I prefer to ride, and when i do, it's 'un Equi

Smashed on the bike and you, they have a wax like consistancy. Greasy kind of waxy goo, but it don't smell too bad. They also make this chink like sound when hitting off of the helmet shield. Whatever you do, do not ride open faced, those bugs can take an eye out. Don't matter what time of day, but evenings around five can get dicey if you are near a lake, or in the damp mountains and forest.
All in all just don't let the waxy stuff get in your mouth, cause the taste will be there for days. I got some on my lip one time and puked for three days.
