I'm pretty happy with my quiver at the moment:

Dirt: 2012 CRF450X
Touring: 2001 R1150GS
Tooling around town: 1996 DR 200, 1963 All-State (race kitted and ratted, no battery), 1976 VBC (with an LML, 24mm Carb and Sito Plus, no battery)

Not enough of a list. I also want a dualsport or dualsports. "Pure" dirt means I have to truck it to dirt and I don't necessarily want to do that. (Also for me, I don't have a desire for a "pure" street touring bike.)

Right now I have a 990 Adventure for road-oriented dualsport, and a DRZ-400 for dirt-oriented dualsport. I used to have a GasGas 200EC (two stroke) for the woods but I am too much of a dualsporter to want a dirt-ONLY bike.

If I lived in different circumstances maybe I'd want one. Like if good dirt was hours away but there was 1,000 miles of trails once I got there. Instead, I live where the best dirt in the state is minutes away but I don't stay in it all day. So dualsport works for me.

As for tooling around town, I used to have an Aprilia RXV-550. I think the supermoto version of that bike would be awesome for ripping "around town". But you'd want to be ATGATT for that. And that's not the 2-wheeler to be running errands and picking up groceries on.

My taste is a little wonky, and I have zero experience to base it on.

Dirt: Maybe a DR200. It would have to be street legal, as I really don't like the idea of hauling vehicles around on other vehicles.

Street: This one is easy. Guzzi v7 special.

Around town: At first I was going to pick my bike (TUx), or something old that I would restore. But then it hit me. This is the bike to tool around town, that means dates or groceries. Clearly a hack is in order. Let's go with a Ural.

After looking at a new Honda CB1100, I think that I could substitute it with a quarter-fairing and soft bags for both the RD and The sport touring.
For a dual-sport I am torn between a Husqvarna TE 511 and a Suzuki DR 650 for reasons on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Close, KTM 300 2-smoke, Multi, NC700X. But I'd go for the Zero too.

I have a KDX220 I like quite a bit, an NC700X, a RD 400, and a Gas Gas 300 Pro trials bike. Pretty close to my ideal garage but I would like a Multistrada, or Hypermotard, or ZX10R, or something hyper sporty that is track worthy.

Some people would argue about the optional ATGATT.

My list evolves constantly. For a while I had a Ducati S4, pretty stomp in' 95hp bike that worked great around town and everywhere else. And a YZ450F that beat me up regularly. And an XR650L Supermoto that was , frankly, disappointing in the engine department.

Now, currently, KTM950SM. A couple minibikes. And probably, real soon, a KX250 2stroke for off road duties. As far as a.big adventure or something like that, I can't get past the weight of them, I've been riding off road for 41 years and can't imagine getting stuck under or crashing my brains out on a 550-600lb bike. And the resulting $5000 repair bill.

Seems like dirt bikes need plates these days. If you want to ride in a park, on a beach or connect certain trails, you need a plate. Based on what I've read, I think a KTM 350 EXC-F is probably the best tool for that job.

I've never ridden either but a BMW K1600 GTL is far more appealing to me than any Harley or even a Gold Wing. (for me the comparison is kind of irrelevant since all three of them have seats that probably beat the crap out of that 2x4 on my WRR)

I never really understood the appeal of step-through frames on scooters, and I certainly don't understand why people figure that means they don't need to wear any gear whatsoever. Crashing at 30mph on a 50cc scooter seems like it'd hurt about as much as crashing at 30mph on a literbike, and you're way less likely to get bucked off by a pothole on the literbike. I never go that far around town so I'd have an electric motorcycle, Zero or other. People around where I live frown on motorcycles and loud vehicles in general so electric might score me points there.
