Would you, could you with a xt250?

I have a 2009 XT250, and I have been thinking about entering an amateur enduro or rally such as this:http://sandblastrally.linaracing.com/2013/

I know this is the last bike you would pick for any kind of racing but it happens to be all I own and I love driving the piss out of her. Will I be the only guy there without some monster KTM? Will there be another cheap bastard to help me eat all the dust?

Heck, why not... if your bike/you are reliable, you probably won't be last.

I think you might be surprised how well you'll finish

yes, do it. If you have even a hint of riding ability, you'll finish well and have a blast, others will crash and break all around you, just putt on by and laugh out loud!

Jetsteamer - yes, yes, and yes! Yes you should do it, yes you'll do fine, yes there will be people in the dust with you (and in yours) with every kind of bike!

I ran the sandblast rally for the fist time earlier this year and had a great deal of fun. Enough that i have since driven 12 hours each way to go to Rally West Virginia which was even more fun.

Sandblast is a great place to start. It is basically dual sport riding at whatever pace you are comfortable with. There were nearly 40 bikes there of all types with riders of all types. The common theme being everyone is very friendly and happy to help out noobs. Trust me i know - i'm a nooooob and have gotten lots of help.

See you there!

Extra points for you if you leave on your license plate and use your turn signals during the event!

Double extra points if you use your horn too.
