950 Puchase Decision - Mileage vs. Farkles

I'm currently looking to upgrade from my 2001 LC4 640 Enduro to an Adventure . I've been looking at two different 950s, both 2004 model year. One is low mileage for the age (27,000) but is basically bone stock. The other is much higher mileage (67,000), but has a lot of extras - gobi's, crash bars and bags, skid plate, Excel front wheel, dual fan kit, aftermarket pipe, rebuilt/upgraded suspension, etc. They are basically the same price. I'm torn and can convince myself either way as to which is the better choice. Any thoughts/advice? Is 67,000 miles high enough to cause concern? Both appear to be well maintained, but who knows for sure... Help me make the right choice!

Some of it will also come down to the previous owner of the bike, in my experience. The farkled one may or may not have had warranty/TSB issues addressed - I would definitely check on that on both bikes. 67k is starting to get there, but isn't unduly high mileage. It's more likely to need pads/rotors/bearings/chain/sprockets etc, but if all the wear items seem good and the farkles are what you would do to it anyway, I wouldn't let the mileage dissuade you. The exception would be if the engine has a hard time building oil pressure, has a lot of cam chain rattle, smokes on startup or when running, that sort of thing.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I'm still learning about these bikes - do you know what the warranty/TSB issues were on this model/year? Also, I'm not a real good judge of things like cam chain rattle, but the bike seems to run well. Maybe I need a professional inspection...

27"000

My bike has 28k on it and it runs like a bat outta hell.
It won't run the same with 40k more on the odom. All those farkles mean it has hard miles.

I Would Prefer Less Miles Than Extras.
