    Hello,

Anyone know of any decent offroad trails, forest roads or such like near lake Fontana or Highlands, NC? I'm going up there this weekend so am looking for half a day's worth.

I've been searching for forest roads, etc, but if anyone's got any good ideas then i'd be grateful to hear (read) them

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for the offer!

I am still pretty new to dual sport riding, but enjoy the slower forest roads to more technical trails. I am no Hard Enduro sort of rider, but can cope with the simpler stuff.

Having said that, I'll be in Highlands only really for Thursday, then Friday morning. I'm heading to Fontana for the weekend..

    Thanks

Stop in at Mtn. Fresh Market for a brick oven pizza and cane sugar soda. :deal

Horse Cove out to Bull Pen and then to 107 and back to 64 is a nice quick Highlands loop. There is a nice loop hiking trail across the top of Whitesides close to town as well if you like to hike.

Ronnie, did you used to ride a TE 450 and a KLX 250 before that?

If you're who I think you are, you definitely know your way around.

The Burningtown trailhead is 3.7 miles from my house. My riding buddies wife was talking to some of the local DOT guys and they were commenting on the Burningtown trail was being used by someone.

If it's obvious to the state guys, then it's probably been noticed by the Feds, too. Just sayin....., A word to the wise and all that......

Thanks, Bob. I'll look it up.

I really want to come on the BRT trip but instead, on that very week, I have to go to a very uninteresting part of Mississippi and hang around in a noisy factory.

    SO excited :fpalm

That was my friends house you stopped at. I'm two miles away.
We (my friend, his neighbor, me and a guy from Morganton Ga) rode the Suches area yesterday. All gravel or old logging roads with a little bit of woods riding, but still fun.
