450,000
Back in Nov 2008 I embarked on a long awaited journey to ride from Texas to South America.
When I started my journey my 1995 R1100GS had around 429k miles on it. Everyone advised me not to that my trusty GS but, I did. I put the GS through some serious punishment at times as I crossed the mountains and altiplanos of Peru and Bolivia. And even in Patagonia I had one nasty crash but, The GS marched on. The total trip was 19,200 miles, just shy of the 450,000 miles mark I knew I should have gone on to Brazil!). I finally rolled to the 450,000 mile mark. Now its time for me to make some money so that I can ride the rest of the world, of course with my Trusty GS! Hank |

holy shit! that mileage rules... Last year I did some pitiful 6000 miles on my brand new GSA ... In that rate I will reach your mileage in some 75 years... I will be 108 years old then
![]() Keep up that pace man!

You realize you've ridden that bike the equivalent of riding around the earth's equator 18 times? Amazing.

I'm just wondering... Just about how much $$$$ would you get if you were to sell the bike? I believe BMW should make you an offer on your motorcycle just to display it in the Munich Museum as the most reliable bike they've ever made.
I've actually seen an article about a guy in Germany that did 600.000km in 12 years on his K75 RT and BMW agreed to service his bike free of charge for the rest of the motorcycle's life. Oh yeah, and I've just passed 75.000km on my '97 1100 GS |
