Yea I know but being a first timer I don't want him to think he won't have any time to rest. You don't get points for the quickest time. In fact I think the IBA trys to discourage riders from riding at an unsafe pace.

I have been interested in doing this myself. Yea I think that they will actually disqualify U if U go too fast.

I've done the sport bike thing (1100 mile days on both TL1000S and 919). I did 600 miles on my DR250 and that was enough. It was though small back roads and included a ton of bad traffic, if I were somewhere less congested, I don't think 1k miles would have taken any longer (in the saddle for 18hrs).

The IBA and their certifications are not of any significance to me, I don't bother with recipts or any of that and just ride to have fun and get where I need to go.

I definitely never even thought about sleeping during a 1k mile day - that's really not all that long of a day unless you hit a ton of traffic or are doing it all off road or something. For that matter I generally don't like stopping at all except for fuel and bathroom breaks (and I keep those as quick as possible).
