Just switched tires... Front brake issue.

So I just put some more BattleWings on after I hashed my TKC80's. They only problem is, now that I have everything back together, the front brake seems very tight. And by tight I mean it actuates with barely a pull. As in barely any play between when you start to pull the lever and when the brakes actuate. I can't figure out why. It's almost dangerous. It used to actuate about 1/2 of the way into the lever throw, which was good for me. Thoughts? Thanks.

Did you remove one of the calipers to re-stall the wheel, or leave the both in place?

Left them both in place. Just removed the front axle and slid the front wheel out. Changed tires. Slid front wheel and axle back in. Torqued fasteners to spec. Maybe something got misaligned a bit? Can you adjust the brake pad gap between the pad and rotor?

It would only take a few minutes to removed each caliper an re-install.
My long shot guess is that you have one of the brake pads wedged in the caliper.

When I went to put my front wheel back on after the Bitubo swap, one of the pads had gotten slightly cocked in the caliper. I caught it but could have easily missed it.
I'll bet that's what happened, Griz.

One of the pads will slip out almost evertime i pulled the tire. If you slide the rotor back in it will wedge the pad.

Problem fixed, but not what I expected it to be. The pads were fine and were aligned correctly. I ended up having to bleed the brake lines a bit. Seems as though there was too much pressure in there. Now the front brake begins actuation about 1/4 way into the pull, and gives full braking force about 1/2 way in, which is how I like it!

Also thought I'd note that upon further inspection and somewhat disassembly of the Brembo brakes, I have to say they are great brakes indeed! Well designed and built.

Breaking Brakes

Took the rear tire off my 1150GS to get a flat fixed. ( railroad spike!!)
Over walks my Uncle in his sandals and he steps on the rear brake pedal and pushes her all the way down.....

I'm going to guess that I probably pulled the lever while the wheel was off. I don't fully remember.

Either way, I'm an idiot for doing so. I learned my lesson the hard way I guess.....
