2010 F800GS - production differences?

Does anyone know if the 2010 models that started to roll off the assembly line have all of the 2009 recalls addressed at the factory? Are there any changes to the bikes other than some new paint?

Thanks.

I can't imagine BMW releasing bikes post recall with the same defect or potential problem.

Your're right, it can't be imagined because it doesn't happen. It is illegal to sell a vehicle with an official recall. Once dealers are notified that bike does not get sold until the fix is on.

And more to the point of the OP, recall fixes are applied FIRST at the factory, so all existing recall issues have long been taken care of for the 2010 bikes. The only changes I know about are the paint colors and a slight price increase.

Original P O S T

Not withstanding any existing problems which BMW seems to be addressing, I believe the inquiry is about changes in the tires, width of the handle bars, etc. My dealer seems to think the bike is the same as 2009. I'm sure the electronics will have the most recent fuel mapping etc.

The rumor that an ADVENTURE model with knobbies and crash bars has not materialized and things look quite the same as before with new paint and graphics.

And those existing problems? My dealer and BMW NA did a great job getting me back on the road from "stalling in the rain issues".

Remind me again how many of these problems are official recalls and how many are campaigns/known issues/bulletins, etc, etc, etc

I was told that the fix was

"the vent hose is changed to a Y type…which prevents the vacuum and keeps the water out."
