My comment was that all the DL1000 owners talk about how much more power the 1000 has over the 650 ( haven't ridden a 1000). If the F800 is equivalent (I have ridden one), then I don't know what all the 1000 owners are getting so uppity about.

So to sum it up before you "look me in the eye" F800 has more power, but it's hardly "rabid". Notice it I did, impressed with it I wasn't.

Now that you're bringing up the 1050 Tiger. That has an impressive bit of power over the Wee..

What were you saying again?

Hats off to BMW for the Rotax sourced F800GS, although a work in progress (what new bike isn't), it's easily their biggest home run in years !

my bad and i apologise, sincerely.

sometimes it's difficult to get sarcasm across, even more difficult if the reader is a hammerhead (me).

This is a fascinating study of board dynamics.

Are there any mods willing to pull chatter out of V-Strom specific threads, or is that part of the BMW value-add?

If you've got a thread that's on track with excellent and timely technical advice, and it's being derailed by BMW/KLR/KTM yip-yap, shoot me a note.

I changed the rear shock on my DL650 today for an Elka with external reservoir and adjustable rebound and compression damping.

I can see why the V-Stroms are not experiencing this problem. The shock mounts to two very substantial cast tabs.
