Thought I'd post some photos of an early morning ride I did last week before the temps got to hot along the Gila River.

I rode in on Florence side, Price Rd. Lots of little roads that parallel the river all the way back to Cochran. I'd like to cross over the river and ride all the small mining roads back into Superior.

Never seen the Gila that high and muddy in the summer time. Usually it is lower and has much better visibility so you can easily cross in a couple sections.

Yeah it's rarely better than axle deep this time of year.

We crossed it one night in April last year. Bad idea... What a long night.

I love that desert around there. Can't wait for it to cool off.

We found a great Gila crossing last fall, but I can't remember where it is. We were coming from the Coke Ovens.

man, is that the long way. it is on a gsa, anyway. did that last year or so with ktmser and friends. won't be doing that again with this bike. i was hoping to see lower river levels so it was crossable, but i guess that won't be for a while.

Nice pics! We've tried crossing the Gila at that point. Too deep and too fast, but it was fun trying!

This is an example of another area I need to explore. I'm predicting a cold spell in 2-4 weeks and then it'll be good riding for 7-8 months easy
