Is it cheating if I sneak a peak at the

Mobius 4; Reno, NV to Seattle WA
M-4 had the most ups and downs of any previous. It is the latest into the fall season we've been riding, and I think we paid for it with short days and cold nights, though the weather during the days was fantastic.
Right from the start, we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Steve (VFR870). We thought our trip was going to be over, and in the end, we only lost about two days of riding. If you haven't read the details in the previous posts from the trail, don't spoil the suspense. Hopefully there will be a little more in the telling than just the facts posted from my PDA from the road. It's tough being back; although, I'm not sure we could do this for more than two weeks at a go, and I applaud those who do. As fun as it was, it was great to have a hot shower and sleep in our own bed last night. Also, I can't imagine writing a RR in real time. Looking at our photos, and reflecting back, it's possible to put things in perspective, (which is a big part of what these trips are about for us). For instance, when we left NYC, it was raining (as usual for our departures); ![]() We were facing bad weather out of New York, and also in Dallas-Ft. Worth, where we had a connecting flight to Reno. ![]() God, if you had told us that our flight to Reno would be our biggest obstacle / problem on this trip, I would have jumped for joy. But of course, you don't know that at that time. It's only in retrospect. Perspective. Things can always get better. Or worse. ![]()

Before & after
riding the elevator down to start M-4:

Reflections travelling by air on 9/11
We arrived at the La Guardia just about the time 8 years previously all hell was breaking loose.
In NYC, there was a palpable sense of mourning. Somber. No tears, but no smiles either. Passengers and staff alike were solemn, cognizant and respectful. I thought the signage was a little much. ![]() The vibe at other airports where we spent time that day were different. DFW, and Reno... much more... normal. I'm not sure what to make of it. I certainly am not passing judgment. It's just an observation that both of us noticed.

It's raining in NYC
there's bad weather in DFW, but we're way early to the airport, 'cause I screwed up once (Once!) and almost missed a flight, so now we do it her way.

So, we find ourselves
a nice little wine bar,
![]() and order some tapas-like food, and kill a couple of carafe's, ![]() and while away 3 ![]() or 5 or 6 hours ![]() while the weather in Dallas goes from bad to worse.

Last time we were there my wife expressed her concern about our short layover, they noticed my wife's cane, asking no questions radio'd for a crip-cart, whisked us both to the nearest elevator down to the tarmac, put us in an SUV weaving around taxiing and parked aircraft from one end of the airport to the other and got us onto the waiting aircraft in the first class line. I was impressed.

BTW, saw your going home from work in the rain video. On those 5 minutes that you captured of your bicycle ride in NYC you probably ran more risks of injury than the combined action of Mobius I through IV.
![]() Again, I liked the resolution of the camera so far. And too bad we did not cross paths when you were in Oregon. Congratulations on the mission accomplished! Lion Quote:

We eventually get to Reno
Unfortunately, our plans to meet Dean & Mike and his wife for dinner or a drink were dashed due to our late arrival.
![]() The big question though, was whether our bags had caught up with us in Dallas, or if they were stranded in NYC since flights had been canceled all day. Mobius 4-002 from DR. Rock on Vimeo. Luggage in Reno Oh, joy
