Bluhduh Help with a hard start/no start F650 1997.

I am suffering with an F650 that will not start. It came in as a hard starting bike. I went thru the carbs and checked compression with the decomp taped. It was all good. There is fuel flow to the carbs. There is spark. After it went back together it started and ran all weekend. Monday morning it would not start and has not since. WTF? It is in a room at 70 deg. It does not appear to be flooded. It would not even go "putt" with a trickle of gas down the plug hole. I am a Harley/Honda wrench but I could use a little help with this Beemer. I have no manual for it, just trying to help out a buddy as the nearest Beemer dealer is 12 hours away.
Its a long cold road to Alaska! You're not alone!

The carbed F's had Beru plug caps. Real POS things :). Only guessing, but those were always grief.

You can replace the cap with an NGK - from memory it's the 110 degree NGK cap. I picked up some Bosch inductive HT leads and replaced the HT cable at the same time and threw away the 1 k resistor in the NGK caps.

Check in their technical section, my write-up is probably still there.

Shouldn't this be in "Thumpers"?
