Over the bars

I was dickin' around on an undeveloped neighborhood road Up in the hills today. Nothing really irresponsible just going around tight corners and having fun.
I hit a patch of gravel in a left hander doing about 40 and the front washed out. Some funky steering manovure later im upright but definitly headed tward the ditch. So, having ABS I simply crammed on the binders and got down to around 15-20mph. I'm now going in the ditch, which is dry, dusty and full of golfball size rocks. ABS and pilot road 2's are not stopping me now, im on a roll, but you know, i can ride this out. As I'm slowing I go into a little washout which is in the middle of the ditch. This washout, about 9 in deep, suddenly ends. I go flying ofer the bars and do a James Bond style shoulder roll.
The only damage is some plastic that i have duplicates of. So, a free reminder to watch out. By the way, I was ATGATT and fine.

good you keep an RS around for spares.

My dad did that in the 60's with two Scoda's and then two corvairs.

Smooth moving

Good for you. I'd like to see the video! The gravel is such a pain We had a huge rainstorm in town a few weeks ago which washed amazing amounts of gravel onto the road. My eyes are like saucers riding around looking for it.

Well, actually, just I have the remains of an identical one I totaled last year. It might save me a lot of money in the future.
