You are just another internet troll trying to look like the real deal by quoting Steve McQueen...oh yeah....we are all impressed with you.

Motorcycle enthusist, YES. Brand biggot, NP.

For me it's about the miles and smiles, not the brand. Over 800,000 miles on two wheels, over 48 years behind bars, still searching for the perfect road.

You are a real piece of work. I'm through being nice to you, though I'm not going to get banned over you. You just aren't worth it.

Why to you take it so personally and attempt to shut me down. If you don't like what I have to say, don't read my post. Simple, no?

Expression is fine, but that isn't what you are doing. Your repeated mindless cut & paste exercises from Badweb, as well as your constant references to that website are adding nothing of value. This is Advrider, in case you haven't figured that out. We don't want to read badweb postings here. If we wanted to read badweb postings I suppose we'd go to badweb. Gee, there's a novel concept.

My first instinct about you was correct when I originally said I wouldn't look up parts for you because you were a fucking waste of time. Thanks for proving my point. All you are doing at this point is trolling. You are trying to inflame people. You bring nothing of value to the table. But it's ok, you can keep going if you like. We'll just sit back and watch GB or Putts have your ass for lunch

My, my, my.

When I initiated this thread, I was:
  1. teasing a bit, because of all the hoopla in numerous other Buell threads at the time, and
  2. seriously looking to see if any recent Buell purchases were becoming hell, rather than the initially professed heaven.

I was thinking an XB-R might make a great track bike, but did not want to experience any reliability headaches. Reports here, or the lack thereof, might prove more informative than the few blabs I had heard over the years. Since we don't have thorough testing and failure reporting as in Consumer Reports, the experiences of fresh purchasers might be of value.

But, as with so many make/model threads, many personal attacks have ensued. Of course, if your user name contains a make/model, perhaps it's difficult not to defend that particular make/model. Note: my user name came from a backpacking trip back in the early '90s, and was not overly responsible for my recent purchase of a Super Blackbird.

I still think this thread may have redeeming value, if people chill out and give the thread some time to develop. So many have recently bought Buells due to the big sale! Let's see what happens in their first year of ownership.

As it is, though, I'm unsubscribing from my own thread, only looking back occassionally when it pops to the top of the Road Warriors list.

Not difficult at all. I don't own a Buell, though I certainly wouldn't have any heartburn about owning one. They are good bikes.

If you'd like to discuss what I've seen break on them in a professional capacity I'd be glad to discuss it, though the haters are going to be significantly disappointed with the brevity of the list.

I figure this thread is targeted at the newer Buells but a number of years ago I had a '97 and a '00 S3T. I had no problems at all with the bikes and they were stupid fun to ride. I only sold them as the firm seat and suspension was getting kinda hard on my old body. I've owned over 30 bikes in the last 30 years or so and the tuber S3T's were some that I enjoyed the most.

Jeez, a half-price sale would be better than that.

Crow, I've put my Uly on the track and an XB12R during a Buell Inside Pass event. The XB's on the track were dissappointment to me, the low red line limit and 5 sp trans simply ruined the experience for me. As always, YMMV!

My friends SV650 and my Daytona675 were more inspiring on the track then the XB's.

I took the Uly to the Inside Pass event to show my support for the brand and to demo the 1125 on the track. When my time came to ride the 1125r all three of them were out of servide because of 'techincal issues'. To this day I don't understand why Buell releases the 1125r when there were known technical issues. Go figure????

Don't assume that this picture is new, or that the bikes are new. Look at the tires. They appear to have been ridden. I'd assume that these bikes were used for testing, and that, for liability reasons, they had to be scrapped. I could be wrong, but I'd bet that every company does this.
