What Airhead tank is this?
So one of the thinks I picked up over this winter was a large fiberglass tank for my R90. The guy I got it from did not know who made it. It fits my R90 with the MC on the frame, even though I am thinking of replacing it with a handle bar unit.
It is just some of the thing's I will be doing to it over the winter. Can some one ID this tank for me. It is fiberglass and has the bar for the 2 rear bolts like a /6. It has the half tube upfront and 2 petcock bosses. It looks to be about 9 gal compared to me PD tank ![]() ![]() ![]()

Probably someone made a mold from a Heinrich tank. I always thought they were either steel or aluminium. If you don't coat the beans out of it, use it for a plant stand. I have not heard anything good about fiberglass and today's gas.
(I'm no expert on anything, either)

Forgot, it takes a /7 flush mount gas filler cap.
Don't know if that helps

I thought I saw a BIG Hole in it, Mike. Better just send it down to TN, and I'll take it off your hands.
I'll pay postage..............Boojum

The shape says heinrich but I don't think they did glass. Look through these and maybe find some clues. http://www.beemergarage.com/Tanks.html

I am pretty sure it is fiberglass. I might have to double check. It was pretty light. Maybe its aluminum, nah I doubt it.
I can't see someone going to all that trouble to make a mold of a real Hienrich and patterning out a gas filler and petcock holes. It looks just like the tiger stripe one on the link Jeff provided. I have never hear of a Bell tank, any more info on this?

If it is an aluminum Heinrich it is worth a lot....they only made around 50 of them in aluminum....it has the same basic shape as my steel 8.5 gallon Heinrich....but looks to have a taller profile. |
