Any more ride reports on F800GS / F650GS Windshields? I read the Givi review above. How about all the others? Likes, dislikes...

Here's what I've found so far (any I missed?) -

BMW R1200GS Adventure OEM Windshield

BMW Touring Windshield

BMW Tall Windshield

Skidmarx

Cee Baileys

Metal Mule

Touratech Windscreen

Touratech Spoiler for Stock Windscreen

I have the Touratech spoiler on a tall tinted 800gs windscreen on my f650twin.

It works quite well but does bounce around a bit. not too distracting unless you are paying attention to it.

I would be interested in being a tester of a new windshield as I will be doing the California Coast next year and i'm sure there will be quite a bit of wind.

It probably costs more and is harder to mold...however the angles make the BMW look like it fits with the bike. Just my $.02

I tried a Givi on my V-Strom before the California Scientific and there is just no comparison: the wind stream behind the CalSci is incomparably smoother. So to get that look you may be sacrificing the performance that Marks' windshields deliver. I've tried it wit hthe NACA duct blocked off and it makes a big difference.

This is his 1200GS model. As with the V-Strom it's available in four heights. Mark is a Physicist, and it shows in the design.

I have Mark's screen on my R1200GS after riding with a very nice CeeBailey. The CalSci is much better protection from wind and the elements. Did a 9 hour ride in the rain at 49 deg F and pretty comfortable and dry.

I may put on the Cee Bailey for more air in the hottest months, however the CalSci will be my go to here in the northland for an extended GS riding season.

He's also working on the F650 and F800 twin screens and I'm sure I'll be getting one for my wife's F650GS to keep her from complaining about the wind and turbulance of the low OEM screen.

Performance and function are much more important in my book. Especially when extending the riding season to months with temps in the 30s and 40s.

Plus, Mark @ CalSci is a great guy to deal with.

Good luck.

Anyone using the Metal Mule? If so, let me know how tall you are and which seat you have (high or low).

Thanks!

Cee Bailey has my F650GS

Cee Bailey has my F650GS and is finalizing the design and fit of their wind shield for the F650/800. They should be finished by next Weds. 10-15.

Cee Bailey is also using my bike to develope a saddle to fit the F650/800.

I will post photos when I get the bike back with the finished products.

Here is a link to their web site with pictures of their proto type shield:
