Any XR650l's In Jackson Hole Wy

So I am looking at getting some Wolfman luggage for the XR650l and I see that they now have some real nice side racks to keep the luggage from melting the side panel or getting into the chain. Only problem is that they have them for DRZ's, KLR's and KTM's but no XR650l's. They say the side racks "Are in the works" but they don't have a bike to mock them up on to. My interest in this is to get a set of their racks. Anybody want to come forth and get in touch with Wolfman and let them borrow your bike to do this? The rack fabricator is in Jackson Hole Wy.

No affiliation with Wolfman. Just want some of their racks.

Thanks, Steve

I did get a response from Wolfman at the beginning of February stating that they were looking into doing the racks for the XRL. Well it is now a month and a half later and still no XRL to mock up from.

Any help someone??

Heck I'd go there my self but it is almost 1000 miles and there's snow on them hills.

I don't think he is looking to Wolfman for racks, just the bags. If he's looking at a manufacturer in Jackson, I suspect it's Berg Briggs. I purchased racks from Berg for the DirtBags on my KTM as DB didn't offer them for my model year. Berg makes a very good product and he probably needs a bike to take measurements off to design the racks.

For some unknown Cosmic reason, we/ Berg and I have not been able to get our hands on a XRL in Jackson. If any one knows any one, who knows any one.... let us know. Berg is going to put a reverse add in a Thrifty Nickle to find a bike. I really do not want to buy a bike just to make racks for it.

Any one know someone, who knows some one????

Cowboy knows a ex-navy / welder / farrier guy who owns a 650L up in Laramie. He's and advrider (The Farrier) ( I Looked up his tag from the winter hooligan thread where I met him.) Maybe some negotiating can be done?

True enough, but there are a lot of miles between Laramie and Jackson! Maybe Tim (The Farrier) and I will plan a ride to Jackson this summer. We've been talking for years about riding around the state to catch each of the four cutthroat species over a weekend. We could be tempted to stop and drink at Snake River Brewing long enough for someone to get some bike measurements!

Hondas are kind of a low-brow bike by Jackson standards! Maybe you could find one in Driggs or Pinedale, where people can't afford BMWs!

Bump for, I can not believe we can't find a XR650L!!!!!

I'll drive up to 100 miles to pic up a bike and return it, Idaho falls, Soda Springs, Rock springs, Island Park, OK some of these are a little over a 100 miles but you get the idea, we will do what takes within reason. Wolfman and Back Roads Moto will make it worth your while.

Thanks everyone for your help,
Berg

Road Trip

OK, Since I started this thread back at the beginning of Febuary and no one has come forward it looks like I just might have to ride to Jackson Hole myself. I just checked the weather for the route to JH . It's kinda cool but do-able with the exception of Jackson Hole. WHEN will it stop snowing there???

Ok i think i have a solution for ya. Im leaving on my trip in 9 days. At the moment i was only thinking of going up as far north as mid Utah and then heading east. I was going to hit WY when i was doing the northern part of my circle. So say id be hitting it in August or so. However its only ~500 miles or so from where i was going to be. So ill make Wolfman a deal. Ill be camping so this will be easy for him. If he will offer me lodging for the time im there (say camp somewhere, could be his front yard, or the front yard of the shop, im really not picky) then they can use my bike fr mock ups. I can be there mid early to mid April. I leave April 2nd so say like a week or two later. How many days do you think it will take to do the mock up? Ill also give them a call right now.

update... meeting sometime around April 11th for mock up.
