buying 2009 last model f800gs, whats the best price I can get? (did you get?)
I am currently relocated in Europe and am trying to shop around for a brand new F800GS. Obviously, the prices here are different because they include the 22% VAT tax on the price.
I found a 2009 WHITE F800gs bike in my country for an (exchange rate) price of $14,000 out the door (this is with every option included). The same bike WHITE in 2010 model with same options is $15,100 out the door negotiated price. It seems like they aren't really offering much of a discount on a 2009 bike...
I would like to ask you guys who already bought bikes, what kind of leverage do I have for negotiating the best price on a LAST YEARS model? Does anyone know the invoice price of this bike?
Thanks for the help in advance

It might help to know where you are. That way someone with knowledge of your local market may have an informed answer.
Here in the states, dealers really don't have a huge margin to bargain with. Also, the F8GS is a pretty good selling bike so they don't have to give too much as the bike will sell.
As far as '09 price to '10 price, that's about the same amount the price went up here. In this area there are no more new '09s to be had.
Given the choice, I would spend the extra money for the '10. With each model year there have been fewer problems.
The urge to buy terrorizes.
