As long as it's made with a high quality vinylester resin, it's perfectly good, if not excellent. Most home built aircraft and many GTP cars have carbon/kevlar/s-glass gas tanks.

I actually just completed a new tank for my bike using VE Carbon/Kevlar and S-glass.

Additionally, a tank like this can be repaired, on the trail if need be. Once you crack a PE tank, it's all over.
