I wonder if this needs a relay so it does not drain the battery when the bike is parked.

That would be an added bonus, but I dont leave anything to chance with electrical and unplug things before leaving the bike for too long. While riding I leave the GPS plugged, but even extended periods I unplug that.

The unit itself wont draw on the battery without something plugged into it.

Does anyone know if this will be able to support my garmin vista cx? I've read that it takes 5V, but also read that it's a sensitive to voltage drops. I'm clueless when it comes to electrical work so thanks for the help in advance. Civil engineering = . Electrical engineering =

If it does, count me in. I already ordered my ram mount, now I just need to power it.
