Upholstery shops?

I'm thinking of having my stock 1150GS seat redone by a local (or localish) upholstery shop. I don't foresee a big effort, just round filing the original padding and replacing it with higher-quality closed cell stuff of roughly the same shape and thickness. My Russell works okay but I like the seating position of the stock seat better. Anybody know of a good shop, preferably in the greater D.C. area?

I know of a good upholster but its in wisconsin. You should be able to talk to guys at car shows or some people with custom interiors to find where they go for upholstry, or look in the yellow pages and ask them to show some pics of work they've done.

There is a guy in Winchester VA who added gel into the seat of my 04 Adv seat- pealed back the upholsery, glued on gel pads and re-upholstered it. Workes great. Unfortunatly I could not find his info but as he does a lot of work on Harleys maybe one of those shops in your area could help you . Good Luck- hope this helps.

Found the info - gelseat.com, # 540 868 9434. Not sure if that is what you 're looking for but he did a good job for me. Good luck.

Gelseat.com guy did my 950 seat. It went from brick hard straight edges to a more rounded all day comfortable saddle. He is just about 15 miles from my house.

I remember his name from couple years ago when I was bike shopping. A Guzzi V11 Sport was on my short list and he has a nice one. He has a new email addy, by the way: Rich Maund. Thanks!

I'll look into that Winchester joint too.
