Accident Scene Management Class

Our local club, BMWBMW is hosting a class called "Accident Scene Management for the Motorcyclist" on March 5th. We are opening it up to other riders. You don't have to ride a BMW or be a club member to join us. FWIW, I'll be there in addition to several other good folks.
Feel free to post questions or send me a PM.

Here is the class description:
Generally, the first person(s) on the scene of a motorcycle accident are other riders. Learn what to do in what order. How to take control of the scene safely, to ensure those injured are cared for in a timely manner. Also, learn when to remove a rider's helmet, and better still HOW TO DO IT SAFELY, with hands on practice. Maximum class size is 50 persons. Instructors: Richelle Deacon, RN and Craig Wix, EMT.

Date: Saturday, March 5th beginning at 9:30 am, until approximately 3:30 pm. The Hunter Motel/Restaurant, 8100 Loisdale Rd., Newington, VA (Exit 166A off I-95) South of "the Mixing Bowl" interchange. 703-339-5400.
Cost per attendee: $35, including lunch and take home materials.
There will be portable first aid kits and other safety related items available for sale.

More details and registration form can be found here.

Drat, damn! I would have liked to take that and it's only 10 minutes from the house. Timing has sucked - if all goes well I will be heading to Florida that day.

The class was pretty good. Learned a few things but mainly it was reinforcement of things I already knew. Learned the proper way to take someone's helmet off if they are not breathing. Learned how to move an injured rider if it was needed.

Their website is http://www.accidentscene.net/ if you are interested in checking it out.

Morton's BMW kicked in some money to support lunch and donated a reflective vest as a doorprize. So thanks to Jeff Massey for that.
