I believe various people may but together rides of various levels and offer others to join. Katy and I (and mrmagoolin) have chosen to put together this ride for those that may want something fairly technical and are opening it up for those that want to tag along. As far as the other days, not really sure what we will ride or if we will try to put together our own loop or tag along with someone else that offers. You can take many nice rides out of Enterprise from all pavement to pavement and good gravel roads to mostly gravel and dirt to more technical and difficult. On "our" ride, we have tried to provide a good mix; sections of pavement and sections of good (fast) gravel to enough (hopefully) technical riding thrown in to make it fun for even the hard core dual sport rider.

That is just my understading and opinion and is not necessarily the official word for this event.
I agree - there is plenty of riding to be done and I'm sure there will be other groups going out on shorter rides and less technical terrain.

I think the offcial word on this event belongs to IdahoSam since it is his baby and I was only babysitting it while he was in the middle of the ocean.

Hey Sam, you like the way I sneaked that in there?

Here's the directions - - - If you have a gps I can send you the mapsource file showing the route, just pm me your email address and I will email it to you or anyone else that might want it.

Don’t take these directions as gospel but they are what I have used to ride dirt from Asotin to Enterprise. It seemed pretty straightforward when I was out there. I got the road names from Mapsource and there is most likely not markers out on the roads.

It’s about 100 miles, a little more if you go through Imnaha.

Snake River Rd (Follows the river) from Asotin, it soon turns to dirt.

Snake River Rd. veers away from the river and turns into Joseph Creek Rd./Horse Creek Rd. (NF4680).

You can either stay on Horse Creek (NF4680) or

Turn W. (right) on Cold Springs Rd. ~ about 36 miles from Asotin (Horse Creek will come back and meet Cold Springs)

This takes you into Hells Canyon Nat’l Rec. Area

Be sure to stop at Buckhorn viewpoint:
N 45° 45.200 W 116° 49.385

To get to Buckhorn turn E. (Left) from Cold Springs Rd on to Buckhorn Rd. about 50 miles from Asotin.

Turn E. (Left) NF 780 to viewpoint.

When you leave head back out on 780

Turn S. (left) on Buckhorn Rd

Turn S. on Zumwalt Rd.

The road goes from Zumwalt-Buckhorn to Zumwalt-Imnaha Rd. to Cow Rd. Rd and end at Hwy 82.

Head N. (right) to Enterprise then N. on Hwy 3 to camp. This is about

Or if you want to go through Imnaha after getting on Zumwalt Rd. in about 8 miles turn S. on Fenceline Creek Rd.

S. (right) on Lower Imnaha Rd. which will take you to Imnaha.

Leaving Imnaha go W. on Imnaha Hwy. (paved) for about 14 miles.

Turn N. (Right) on Mark Conrad Ranch Rd. which intersects with Zumwalt-Imnaha Rd and follow as above.

I haven’t done the Imnaha to Mark Conrad Ranch Rd. part so I don’t know how easy it is to follow.

From Imnaha you can stay on the paved road on to Joseph then head N. to Enterprise.

If anyone spots errors in the directions please let us know and I will correct them on the post.

No Ladybug, this little venue has morphed into something of beauty under your guidance and nurturing This is your baby. I'm just showing up to the party. There will be something for everyone as I am sure that folks will gather in amiable clusters and discuss the preferred ridding preferences over fermented grapes or malted and hopped barley pops and reach a conclusive trek what works best for them.

Things aren't working out well for me for this weekend but all will be good. I think it's my lesson in being flexible, which I'm not good at.

I might take you up on the offer to pack something down.

Thumbs down 39 road between Halfway and Joseph washed out.

I have not been following this thread but a warning to any that maybe planning on riding the 39 Mountain road between Halfway and Joseph had better plan another route.

Heavy rains the last 2 days have washed out the 39 road in 4 or 5 places on the Halfway side with maybe 2000+ feet or more down the drain.

The same for 66 FS road and the 76 FS road north of Halfway and Richland.

No estimates on repairs yet but i would say maybe not tell late fall if at all on the 39 road.

Good luck
