Which colour Jesse to which colour bike?

How are people matching bike colours to bag colours? If I go with the Jesse bags, I'm not sure if I should go with black or charcoal. Have the 30th anniversary white model.

The darker the color the hotter the contents of your bag from the suns energy. That's why I went with silver Jesse's on my bike.

Only really applicable at a standstill - on the move, the airflow around the box will render any difference in temp caused by colour imperceptible, and any experiment on the matter would be hampered by the exhaust side box vs non-exhaust side.

Darker panniers will make scratches stand out more.

On third set of Jesses. One silver, two black. 10k miles in western states last summer over 28 days and the temp rarely was under 90. Saw zero difference with Heat in black over silver, I'm moving.

Found that matching silver paint to cover scratches was much more difficult (least bit of fading stood out), whereas black is standard gloss black. Top box in pic has been rattlecan painted at least 3 times to cover scratches. Top box in picture has well over 100,000 miles on it.

For me the black just matches the black parts of the F800GS so much better. Silver F8 with silver Jesses does look good though. Look around this site....and you will see several silver and many black Jesses on F8's....only you can decide. But for me the Charcoal looks like a dirty black.

I have the 30th anniv model too & I got black Jesse's. I am very happy with the colors. I went on my first long trip last weekend & the bike laid down on each side. The bags saved my bike from any damage but scratched the bags a little.

My only concern is that sometimes I look at it & think it looks like a police bike with all the black & white colors.

I will take some pictures soon & try to post...

Nice, very nice

I likey! Pizza Top box is nice. Minimal weight...perfect for a notebook, or pizza. That little scratch is very easy to fix.

RamblerTim - looks nice! Did you consider the charcoal before going with black?

No, I did not consider any of the other color options, I wanted black. I thought it would match the bike better.
