tires

Ok so I'm looking at new D606 tires for the DR650. Is the 17in rear change to 18in going to make a huge difference?

Sweet Thanks

Well went with the 17. Front I kept same size. Now need to change them and put on the heated grips I ordered. Anyone? Ray you busy Saturday? Oh bdog that's right. Well will have to wait until someone is free for help. Haven't done a tire swap before, think it can be done by a rookie?

it's a good idea to learn, but the first few WILL suck.

get some irons, and take your time!

OR,

i will be around saturday afternoon, and could run you through it. i will have the chitlin's so it would have to be at my house. ?

i have the tools and stuff, you'd just need tyras.[/QUOTE]

Wow that would be great. If the tires come in tomorrow as expected I'll pm ya. Maybe bring my daughter to play with the girls. She's 13 so can watch the kids while daddy and I play. Thanks a bunch! Truly cool. Maybe I'll bring a pizza for dinner or something. Beers if that's alright with ya. Thanx again....

So I am hoping to ride it. One reason I was not sure was that I didn't have a muffler for my bike, as I traded my stocker for someone's lighter aftermarket. UPS will deliver tomorrow. I am driving out to White Salmon after that to bolt it on (bike out there).

So one problem. I don't have a roll chart. Is it possible to do this ride ('A' course) by tagging along with someone who has the chart? I'd be doing the Sat ride only.

Black Dog 2010 - Saturday Ride

Took a couple of pics. Biped and I rode with 5 guys from the supermoto-junkie bunch. Thanks for a great ride, guys.

The weather for the day was fantastic! This was my very first roll-chart ride. Turns out the old-school trip meter on the DR was pretty well on.

Beautiful morning, with Mt Hood peaking above the tree line. Had to set the alarm for 5 am to get to the fairgrounds in Odell from White Salmon in time for morning registration.

Atop Bald Butte on the return trip. Some dark clouds rolled through. Mt Adams in the distance, next to left handguard.

Mt Hood would be center background if not for the clouds.

I did not do the Sun ride. Didn't really plan on it, and it started pissing down rain anyway. Saw bikes roll on by on Jewett/Hwy 141 past my place in White Salmon around 9 am.

Glad to hear that you made it back safely.

I had a great time on Saturday......the weather couldnt have been any better for a day in the woods.

I am hooked on these rides now. The KTM performed way better than I expected it to on the pavement.

When are we going to get together for some more riding? =)

BI-PED, you rode the crap out of that 690!!! I was super impressed to see you did that last section of single track. My hats off to you, and if you are planning on hitting up Diamond Mill or Browns camp anytime again, let me know, I may even be able to show you some fun new stuff for that beast to tackle.

Thanks for the fun, and I think I am going to hang up my supermoto shoes after this awesome ride.....

Thanks for the compliments.. It was great riding with you SMJ folks. Thanks for your patients on the single track. Sorry if I roosted you with rocks on some of the hillclimbs. We'll ride again soon.

Sundays ride was soaking wet but fun. Lots of WFO dirt roads and greasy rutted sections.
I had so much fun the weekend I even road the bike to work this morning...
