Why are you so concerned about the resistance on the secondary side of the coil damaging your electronic ignition? I'm sure Boyer keep exactly the same output stage transistor for all of their ignitions.

Motobins sell the early style cap with a resistor in for around $10 as well as the early style without the resistor. Part No.06150 for the cap with 5k resistance.

You could always fit the R version of your spark plug if you want to keep your current setup.

I've read many times that the electronics, not just Boyer, will not be happy if you do not have 5k ohms of resistance. I assume it has something to do with radio EMF doing evil things to the electronic components. But my knowledge fizzles out at this point so I'm just playin' it safe.

It's more to prevent interference on your neighbours TV.

Got the NGK plug caps and bought 8 sets of non resistance plugs. I have been asimilated...

I order a set from the BMWires guy on ebay. Had a quick response and shipping, total damage was $35.

I got the wires in, it was quick and they look good with soldered connections. Tested them last night and put them on. One question though, one set measured at 4,950 ohms and the other 4,750. I'm assuming it's within range for my farming equipment ride with Boyer electronics. Anyone know otherwise?
