Is it wrong...

...to leave work early to pick up my new F800GS? Better still, to make up reasons to drive to other work sites, so that I can ride when I'm supposed to be at work?

Of course, all this will be made up, I'm too much of a sucker to steal hours. :-/

Orange.

I just couldn't bring myself to own a white bike - reminds me too much of white minivans and sedans. Though it might've convinced me to paint it some sort of gunmetal color, which could be cool. But orange is pretty great.

Not at all.

I picked mine up on a Wednesday, left work early, rode 150 miles, then phoned in sick for the rest of the week because of "projectile diarrhea and flatulence". No one asked any questions....

I live in the Bay area, flew down to San Diego to pick up my F8, and took 4 days to ride it back. Kept getting lost on what should have been a routine half day ride. I should have brought some extra undies, but what the heck. White is actually growing on me, but I prolly would have gone orange when it came time to write the check. Mine is yellow, which I still like the best.

I left at lunch to pick mine up on a Thurs and only made it back to town after my ride to show it off at the bar during happy hour! I was at work the next day but of course I was useless because all I could think about was going riding!

Hah! Well, I ended up leaving only a *little* early - that's the problem when you're working at a contract R&D company and they have you on-site at one of your biggest clients. Damn priorities...

But of course, something had to happen. They didn't have the bike ready! They started putting the LoJack in, but then *someone* told the mechanic to work on a different bike instead, and he missed the 5pm cutoff for calling in to finish the install w/ LoJack. Had I showed up earlier, we could have harassed him into getting it finished first - but instead I just had him pull it out, and they'll install it when I come back in for the 600 mi service.

Rode it around for 2 hours after that, but I had to head home as my buddies were following me. And of course, today is scheduled for thunderstorms... and me without a waterproof jacket.

Tomorrow!!!!! and then all weekend.
