I have a set of Martin Fabrication HID's installed on my F650GS Twin. They're only 35W each so I've been able to run them constantly for the past year without issue. When my dad borrowed my bike he said there was so much light it was like he could almost see into the future. Then again, he's half blind... or deaf... or something.

surely you wouldn't have the HID's lit with oncoming traffic close enough to be concerned about seeing your indicators????

That's the main reason I installed extra lights on the front of my bike. So the oncoming traffic sees me in the day light. I notice I get lots more respect / room from cagers when my lights are on. I run my high beam all day too.

i understand all that....
but HID's up near your indicators/headlights? isn't the idea to create a 'triangle of light' or something for better distance n speed perception? so would'nt the addtional lights be better lower ie on crash bars etc?

Exactly my point, I'd have mine burning while in traffic in the daytime. I don't think his signals will be visable. Just sayin'

Day time Light
Here are my Trail Tech HID lights - these are model SCMR16's - 1800 lumens each. That's a lot of light (though I can not recommend them as they like to break - twice already for internal ballast.)
Indicators plainly visible even when off. They show up just fine.

Micro Flooters
I have them and like them. They are bright and very adjustable in range and angle. the instructions to fit are easy and it took me about 30-45 min to do( im not great with electrics). had them in rain and wind and not failed me yet. makes the front of the bike very visable!
