3 Northwetters ride North

Myself (Ipponduro) riding the 950 adventure

Jeff (Iskitoo) riding the 07 R1200GS

and Fred (almostfred) pushing the 07 DL1000

Day 1 started out with much anticipation. I don't think any of us got much sleep the night before. After months of waiting I made Fred and Jeff wait until noon on Friday when I got off work before we could leave.

I show up at Jeff's house to find the other 2 geared up and ready to go.

The 3 of us with our clean shiney bikes right before we threw the helmets on and we were off

I didn't taken any picture until we were in Canada and were forced to stop

right next to Elvis Rocks

After our first (of many) construction delay we we back on the road

with beautifull weather to boot

we stopped in Cache Creek at Hungry Herbie's Drive In for an early dinner

Herbie Burger

From Herbie's we hit the road, hwy 97 north to Lac La Hache Provencial park.

I think it was 16 bucks for the campsite.

Day 2 started out well, a little chilly, but clear and dry

I took a picture just as we were coming into Williams Lake.

Hwy 97 makes a right turn in Williams Lake Just a mile or so after I took that picture. Jeff Made the turn, I looked at fred in my mirror and made the turn, then about a half mile up the road I looked in my mirror again and no Fred WTF? so we turned around and found Fred parked just after the corner.

Flat Tire!

So Fred Limped the bike down to the Chevron

Where I found out why they brought me along.

The Tire was junk due to the size of the hole and wear on the inner liner from going flat at 60 miles an hour there was no way it was going to make it the next 5500 miles.

This happened at about 7:00 A.M. and none of the local bike shops opened till 9:00 Fred took off on foot and showed up at about 9:15 in the passenger seat of a pickup with a new tire.

we found some Chervron bead lubricant and mounted it up.

Being a professional tire monkey has it's advantages......... or disadvantages.

Fred Reinstalls and were ready to roll

A little way down the road we saw where someone in a cage had had a much worse morning.

and we had great weather again.

We stop for gas and the Girls flock to check out the big KTM.

Later on we ride our first gravel of the trip

My bridge picture

Jeff's bridge picture

We roll into Dawson Creek early enough to make about a 15 mile side trip for a poster shot.

or 2

Night 2 we find ourselves at the Beginning of the Alaskan Highway, Mile 0

The Harley is owned by a guy named Chuck, a farm boy from the Mid-West (Iowa or Ohio can't remember) riding solo to Fairbanks. We played leap frog with him on the Alcan for the next few, days pretty cool dude

I slept pretty good that night, I had no idea that the next day was going to be packed with surprises.
