Red Wing!
Hey, Old Geezer, I'm originally from Red Wing. In fact, most of my family still lives there. Let me know if you ever have to go back there for business at the Shoe. My brother Kevin works there. Last year, he lost his wife to cancer. To help keep him busy, I suggested he look into riding again. And he did! Bought a big old chromed up Harley. Goes out a lot after work. Lots of winding asphalt in the hills and along the Mississippi back there.
I'll bet he'd be happy to meet up with you and go riding. Perhaps keep you from getting bored stuck in a hotel room after work. Just a thought. Please PM me if you ever have to go back there. WU7X Dale, the Old Fart

I would strongly recommend that anybody who has not ridden up there make the trip. I would start at the headwaters of the Mississippi, where you can wade across it - just so you can say you did! Ride up one side of the Mississippi, and down the other. Hills, twisties, dark green corn fields, mixed with golden wheat fields, quaint churches (almost always with equally quaint bars flanking them), and town squares. Oh yeah, being from Houston, I have to give kudos to the drivers I encountered. I wish the drivers (myself included) were as courteous here as they were in Minnesota and the upper midwest, generally. A special thanks to the lady who could have run over me without repercussion when I almost turned left in front of her, thinking I was at a 4-way stop!! |

Nice looking set up. Minus the fairing looks great!! Finding old cars in Minnesota in that good of shape is a completely different story.
