wifes first ride.....

After much disdain toward my two wheeled hobby, numerous discussions on what she thought of it all, and many mentions of how i was gonna kill myself. she figured out i wasn't gonna quit riding the damn thing!
So it came to a simple point...If you can't beat em join em!
after a failed attempt at purchasing the perfect first bike(turns out a 270cc trials bike does not make an ideal first ride! Odly, i found that i quit enjoyed it )
2nd times a charm and an 07 KLX 250 was obtained. Complete, fairly clean, cheap enough, and ready to be tagged. Until the title was misplaced at lowes, or the grocery store, or gas station, or maybee it's at....well, you get the point!
So lost title has been applied for, its not a big deal(or so i tell myself everytime i think about it)
After a few rides around the yard, a couple of rides through the neighborhood, and a succesfull MSF school, today was the day. First ride in the woods!
We are lucky to have a "private" set of trails nearby. A call to my good friend pete(400psi) and a plan was born. He would tag along and help to make up for my minor lack of patience.
So, off we go....
cresting the first hill, pete running sweep

where are we turning?

cool tree in the trail. damn, i'm a pretty man!

what the hell happened here? Its a pretty tight technical trail. lors of roots/rocks. If she can ride this well, we got it made!

gettin it done!

pete, bring up the rear

All in all. it went pretty well, few low spead crashes, few 2nd gear takeoff attempts(all failed) some probable poison ivy, and a LOVE of ridin a dirt bike. Looking forward to getting a tag on her bike, so we can get out and ride a little more.

THANKS PETE

Sooo Sore

Thanks everybody for the words of advice and encouragement. I figure if I can drop/fall off/pick up the bike that many times (thank you Dave for not highlighting that) and still have fun, I'm probably hooked.

Now if only I could find that title...

Way to go Kat!!! Lookin' good! And don't worry about the drops. A little dirt is good for it.

Congratulations on the conversion of non-rider --> rider! My wife has been riding for almost 15 years now and makes the best riding partner. Be patient and she should enjoy it.
