I'm considering ordering a couple of these, but I'm not really sure how to hook them up. They would be for my '05 KLR 650 and my wife's '09 KLR 650. Does anyone have any suggestions or details on the best way to wire them up to these bikes? I'm not really much of a mechanic, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-James

You can connect it many ways:
-Straight to the battery.
-Through a powerlet plug/socket.
-With an SAE cable to the battery.
Red to positive, Black to negative.

Ok, ordered a couple. It sounds easy enough if I use the direct to battery option, since I don't know what a powerlet plug or SAE cable are, or if our bikes use that stuff. :P

Ah, KLR, just go staight to the battery, and don't forget to turn off whatever is plugged into it.

Ordered 2. :-)

I was the one that emailed you regarding current draw when nothing is plugged in. My mate (who order with me) is still skeptical that it won't draw current.

What kind of amps is the USB plug capable of carrying? Not for charging a device, but for the other way around. I have one of your plugs on my R6, and if it could handle 2 amps I'd like to run my trickle charger through it instead of connecting to the battery.
