Just Can't seem to get a Hat trick...

So the wifey and I were looking to go for a little spin yesterday so I checked on a few tags. The Maine tag Kaw posted popped up just before we left home. So we headed for Bath for some nourishment and to make a plan. Off to Durham to claim the ME tag at the AMVET hall.

Once we grabbed this tag I decided to head for Grafton Notch to grab the Appalachian Tag. We stopped at a McD's in Auburn to poach some wifi to post the ME tag then headed west.

We stopped at the turn for 26 when you head up to Grafton Notch for a little fuel and some map checking. Wanted to make sure I was finding the right App trail head.

Ginger doing a little homework on the tag

We decided to get moving when these chickens started to attack..

so we blasted north towards the Notch...

and then the tag I thought we had...

But I was 2 days late

So since we were in the neighborhood I decided to swing to Rangely to rescue the NNE tag that MZ dropped there weeks ago. as soon as we crossed the state line on 26 there was fresh tar all the way to Errol and Rt 16 was great all the way to the state line... Maine roads suck

So we snagged the tag in Rangely...

and then headed into town to get some lunch..

We poached some wifi here, found out I had been Bruced by 2 days on the APP tag and posted the NNE tag. I thought about dropping the ME tag here but decided it may suffer the same fate as the NNE tag if I did.

So we headed home via the back way 142,156 where we dropped the ME tag

Then we grabbed 133,41 and headed into Gardiner to place the NNE tag at our favorite little Diner. My hopes for Pie and Coffee were crushed when we found it closed for the day.

So we checked another diner and it was closed as well...after all it was almost 5 o'clock on a Sunday in rural Maine. So we stopped in a pie shop and grabbed a whole pie to have at home..

All in all we ended up with 2'fer and 283 miles in an 8 hr day. Not a lot to some but a big day for my favorite passenger..

Looks like a nice day!

Would love to get up to the A1 and grab the NNE tag...still haven't ever gotten one of those. Unfortunately, the wife keeps telling me we pay the babysitter so I can work, not ride...
