Ya. I saw the other thread you started and replied. Glad to finally meet you at the GS Challenge. I'll be in Vernon again the weekend of the 18th for some more dirt eatin'.

Nope, I've got about the same burn and I was wearing top end riding pants and full on mx boots.

When it comes to burns, I will take jeans to synthetic gear any time.

I spent about 10 minutes picking melted plastic out of my burn which was fairly easy because where the plastic was stuck to my skin, my skin came off nice and easy.

Leather pants are a bit better but you still get burned through them as well and I have scars to prove it.

Also leather is hard to get out of when it is soaked in gasoline and on fire and no rolling does not help, I know this from experience as well.

In my opinnion the safest and best off road protection is loose fitting jeans with serious shin, knee, tail bone, and hip protectors underneath.

My riding pants cost around $600 and have great abrasion protection for the road and great armour compared to most, but still wimpy compared to dedicated stand alone armor under jeans.

P.S. A good bash plate has saved me from some burns since :)
