Got my 2006 GSA in May and took it on a 2500 mile trip to the Czech Rep and Bavaria.

Love this bike for touring.

This is an older trip before I add the larger windscreen and the aluminum cylinder covers.
Hopefully next trip will also have the spoked rims :)

Meet the Custard Beast

Picked her up Wednesday Originally went for a motor with Mrs Wonderful. She didn't actually specify that it had to be four wheels not two. I gave her the key ring as compensation

Next stop Alaska

Just picked mine up today. Back on a BMW again, never should have wavered.

'09 GSAA, CPO bike with 15k (m) on it. The dealer put some fresh rubber and a new set of cases for me to take it off their hands.

So happy to be back on a nice handling bike...

I bought a R1200GS two months ago and decided to go ahead and go big with a GSA!

Here's my little piggy in front of some Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon today!

Meet Angela

Picked her up last week in KY and rode 5000 km in 6 days to
Victoria BC.

Meet Angela, pronounce like the Italians would, Hangela, like Han Solo; not
Aingela like she ain't.....

I know I know I'm nuts...

But now we're ready for Baja next year and Argentina in 2012

Do you just use standard vinyl, or is it some special type for wrapping?

Well, you already know, but I thought i show it to the others here too...

I wrapped the tank in matt vinyl, it did cost me nearly a heart attack but I finally got it done.

I am just pretty disappointed that my black side covers are so shiny. If someone around Brisbane wants to swap them for matt ones, let me know.

click the pics or here to see more photos.

All the best to you guys!

Hey Sir,
Thanks for your interest!
when I started back then, I bought this vinyl because of the color, having no idea what type it was. It just turned out to be the right stuff by accident. It seems to be 'normal' vinyl used by signwriters to cut their lettering and so on.

The stuff is so good that I managed to apply it on the big side panels, IN ONE PIECE.... I mean, it took me a year actually trying this...

Anyway, it's this Vinyl:

Quote:
From the Arlon Page:
Series 2100 is a 2-mil cast film is extra formable, thereby providing exceptional conformability, even on deep recesses and channel constructions on vans. The advanced adhesive system is designed to perform well on a wide variety of substrates including rigid sign faces, banners, and painted metal. Series 2100 is now available in 83 vibrant colors. With outdoor durability up to 10 years***, it withstands adverse climate and environmental conditions.
APPLICATIONS & FEATURES
- Maintains softness over time
- Resists embrittlement, cracking and crazing
- Outperforms most films in multilayered graphics
- Black and White - 10 Years; Colors - 8 Years; Metallics - 6 Years
- Conforms exceptionally well to rivets, corrugations, and channel structures
And the company making this seems to be just around the corner from you in Long Beach, they are in Santa Ana:
Arlon Headquarters:
2811 S. Harbor Blvd.
Santa Ana, CA 92704
(hope it's alright if I post a commercial link, let me know if not)

There are a lot more photos of applying this vinyl on my page. Just follow the banner below and then click on the BMW symbol (the BMW diary) on the left
